Arghavan Khosravi

Arghavan Khosravi was raised in Tehran, Iran. She graduated from Art and Architecture University of Tehran «Honâr va Mêmari» with a Bachelor of Graphic Design and completed an MFA in illustration at Faculty of Fine Art, the University of Tehran. After practicing in both fields for nearly a decade, she came to the U.S. to pursue her life-long dream of becoming a painter. She enrolled at Rhode Island School of Design after completing a post-baccalaureate program in studio art at Brandeis University.

Narguess Hatami – founder of Miahatami – was born in Tehran in 1981 in an artistic family. Her father is an architect and her mother is a fashion designer. After earning her scientific degree at one of the most prestigious pre-college institutions in Tehran, she decided to pursue her studies in Italy. She joined the Faculty of Humanities of the Università degli Studi in Bologna, following the Degree Course in Culture and Techniques of Costume and Fashion. Since then she realized her passion towards fashion and started developing it.

Nina Ghafari

Nina Ghafari (1989) is a Persian artist based in Stavanger Norway. Ghafari’s work is a raw and often painful testament to her unfiltered exploration of memory and self through text and image. A self-taught artist whose short-lived spell at art school showed her that the teaching of “art” for some social classes, was nothing more than an attempt to condition and mute the often brutal realities and associated creativity of those operating outside mainstream hegemonic culture. In her case, this concerns second-generation immigrant outsiders with a passionate need to express themselves.

Interview with Ghobad Shiva

Shiva graduated in 1966 from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran. He then spent several years acquiring practical experience in graphic art before earning a master's degree from Pratt University, New York City, in 1980. Then after creating original works over several decades, he achieved a graphic artist with an Iranian flavor, which indeed prompted museums and collectors across the world to add his works to their collections.
