Yousha Bashir is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Tehran. He is a graduate of Graphic Design and Visual Arts. His works as well as experimental artistic projects have been featured in four solo exhibitions in Tehran, as well as many curated shows, both in Iran and abroad.

Yousha’s practice ranges from painting to sculpture and three-dimensional pieces to installations. In his works, he draws ideas such as construction/deconstruction, duality, and suspension. Yousha’s subject matter is frequently extended from his previous works. One of his main sources of inspiration is the use of transcendental spaces in conjunction with atmospheric electronic music.

His works mostly oscillate between abstraction and figuration. The self and how it is separated from the real world is one of the main explorations throughout his works, thus they often include figures —usually as self-portraits or utopian/dystopian abstract landscapes.
