In modern Persian literature and art annals, Sohrab Sepehri (October 7, 1928 – April 21, 1980) stands as a beacon of creative synthesis, a visionary who bridged the traditional with the avant-garde. Born in the historically rich city of Kashan, Iran, Sepehri's life and work were imbued with a profound sense of place and a deep reverence for nature, themes that would resonate through his poetry and paintings.
Born in 1985 in Shiraz, Boshra is an Iranian poet, writer, actress, and model who was first introduced to Persian literature by her grandfather before starting primary school. She developed a precocious love of poets such as Iradj Mirza and Parvin E'tesami whose work inspired her to write her own poetry from a young age. Boshra later studied Children's Literature and Theatre at the BIHE University and eventually left Iran for the USA in 2009 where she currently resides.
Every year, Iranians hold ceremonies in different cities across the country, including the capital, Tehran, to pay homage to the world-famous literary figure.
