Artist Guidelines

ZH Magazine — Artist Collaboration Terms & Submission Policy

Effective July 2025

Introduction

ZH Magazine is an independent art and culture publication based in Los Angeles, committed to showcasing thought-provoking, high-quality, and visually compelling artistic content. To ensure editorial consistency and professionalism, all artists, contributors, and interviewees—whether invited or self-submitted—are required to follow the terms outlined in this document.

By participating in any feature, interview, or collaboration with ZH Magazine, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Image Submission Standards

•All images must be high-resolution (minimum 300dpi, print-quality) and preferably captured in a studio setting or under controlled lighting.

•If you do not have professional portraits, ZH Magazine may offer to create editorial-grade images using AI tools in collaboration with you. Your consent must be given at the beginning of the process.

•Any objection to the final visuals must be made before layout and publication. Objections raised after design finalization may not be accommodated.

•Please do not submit selfies, previously circulated images, or low-resolution artwork unless specifically requested.

2. Interview Process & Communication

•Interview questions are tailored individually and designed to reflect your artistic journey, not to follow a template.

•You are required to respond within 7 calendar days of receiving the questions unless an extension is pre-approved.

•Responses should be in English. If submitted in another language, ZH Magazine will translate them, and you will be given one round to approve or revise the translation.

•Incomplete, delayed, or vague responses may result in postponement or cancellation of the feature.

3. Biography & Resume (Required)

You must submit:

•A professional artist biography (150–300 words).

•A clear resume or CV highlighting exhibitions, notable projects, education, and artistic achievements.

•Your official website or portfolio link (if available).

Note: Sending a casual or poorly formatted text document does not qualify as a bio.

4. Artwork & Media Submissions

•Image files of artworks must be in .JPG or .PNG format, no smaller than 2000px wide.

•If you are submitting videos or multimedia work, include public links (YouTube, Vimeo, website). Do not send outdated or low-quality files unless agreed upon.

5. Rights & Publication

•By submitting images, text, or media, you grant ZH Magazine non-exclusive rights to use the content for editorial, web, print, and promotional purposes related to the magazine.

•All credits will be properly attributed.

•You retain full ownership of your work.

6. Eligibility & Selection

•ZH Magazine reserves the right to select contributors based on artistic merit, alignment with our editorial vision, and availability of space.

•Self-submission does not guarantee inclusion.

•All invited artists must complete the required forms and provide requested materials to proceed with publishing.

7. Code of Conduct

ZH Magazine maintains a respectful and professional environment. The following behaviors are not tolerated:

•Repeated last-minute demands, emotional manipulation, or disrespect toward the editorial team.

•Passive-aggressive refusal to follow clear instructions.

•Misrepresentation of credentials or plagiarism.

Submission Form

All participants must complete our Submission & Consent Form before their content is processed for publication. This includes:

•Legal name & contact

•Social links

•Headshot (if applicable)

•Bio & CV
