Amin Montazeri
Amin Montazeri was born in 1992 in Tehran, Iran. Amin presents detailed contemporary readings of myths and legends.
His works do not focus on merely retelling the stories but aim to show the perpetual situation of repeated events in human history through a convoluted and conceited storytelling style. His allegorical approach and sarcastic tone are attributes of the development process of his themes, which involve human memory and social consciousness.
Amin’s delicate technique draws inspiration from Persian Miniature painting and Western traditions, creating a detailed scene to express various aspects of the artist’s narrative. Amin’s work has been featured in two solo exhibitions at Dastan Basement; a solo presentation by Dastan at START Art Fair 2016 in London; and numerous group exhibitions presented by Dastan; including every year from 2015 to 2019 in Dastan Basement Booth at Art Dubai; Sam Art A Project by Dastan Outside the Basement in 2015, in2013 at Dastan & Basement Booth in DESSIN (13), Paris; in 2013 at Tehran Art Walk, and in 2010 and 2011 in the 2nd and 3rd Iranian Contemporary Drawing Exhibition.
